How to buy classic and stylish plus sized business clothes

Shopping for any work wear can be a chore in itself. For the plus sized woman, there is the added problem of finding a variety of options to choose from. In  many cases, plus sizes cost a little more than regular sizes which never seems fair to the plus sized woman.

Shopping for business clothes can present its own challenges whether you are plus sized or not. In addition to limited options in plus sized clothing, the tendency may be to buy whatever is available, which may not be the most appropriate wear for business purposes.

It is important for the plus size woman to know that she can wear any business fashion that a regular sized person can; she just needs to ensure her choices fit her body type and complement her assets. Here are some guidelines that could help you when buying plus sized business clothing.

Instructions
Step 1

Become familiar with the latest fashion trends for the season you will be buying in. Whether you are choosing winter boots or a summer dress, it is important to preview the new fashions  and take your pick.

Step 2

Shop at a store that is dedicated to plus size fashions. Here is where you will find the most helpful and knowledgeable staff to assist you with your purchases.

Step 3

Know your style. You don’t always have to wear what is in style if it is not your style or if it doesn’t compliment your body.

Step 4

Know what your dress code is at the office or in the board room. Understanding what is acceptable business attire in your company can be a useful guide when shopping for plus size business clothing.

Step 5

Try on for fit and style. Never purchase any business clothing without trying on each and every outfit. Seek the advice and feedback from your sales associate. It is also helpful to have a friend accompany you who can give you an honest opinion.

Step 6

Select basic colors and classic styles in pants, skirts, and jackets that work  with any body type.  Add color to your business wardrobe and don’t be shy about mixing and matching.

Step 7

Adjust your business clothing to fit. For a few dollars more, or for free, depending on where you shop, you can have adjustments made to hems and other areas.

Step 8

The right fit means that pants, blazers or skirts are neither too baggy or too tight.

Step 9

Wear your clothing with pride and confidence. Looking good and feeling professional goes a long way with employers and clients.

Step 10

Select good value for your money. You don’t need to spend a fortune for good business clothing. At the same time don’t sacrifice a professional look to save a few extra dollars.
