Each year billions of shoes, accessories, and clothing is produced from the ideas that spring out of the mind of fashion designers. While some fashion designers concentrate on a specific area of the industry, others have a finger in nearly everything. Dolce and Gabbana are prime examples of that.

Not all fashion designers are on the cutting edge. Most are actually employed creating clothing that many view as mundane like uniforms, or making improvements to existing designs. That however is very steady well rewarded work, unlike those that try there hand at haute couture which is more conceptual and rarely leaves the runway.
